First time applying question

First of all, this is my first time applying for a license in Wyoming
Process is a little complicated is an understatement for sure.
Been building preference pts. For my wife and me for an archery hunt.
Have a question I'm sure has been asked before.
If you draw a type 1 license , using unit 39 for an example, good for rifle season opening in Oct. , can you still buy an archery license and hunt that unit when archery opens up Sept. 1?
If so , do you buy the archerylicense after you rec. the tag or do you submit another form for it ?
We are primary interested in archery, but would like the option to hunt during the gun season also. Main reason thinking of applying for type 1 instead if type 9 would give us more options.
Appreciate anyone that can clear this up.

I think it depends on the unit.If I remember correct there are some units with type 9 tags that allow type 1 holders to archery hunt for a week or two early.I would research the unit your looking to apply for.I'm almost positive in unit 39 type 1 guys cant archery hunt
Think if buzz sees this he'll be able to give a clear answer

38/39/40 do not allow a Special Archery license on a type 1 license.

There is a table listing archery seasons and units in the Elk regs just past the unit descriptions.
The regulations are Not the same as the nr application guide
