My son has points to draw unit 500 1st rifle and the success seems pretty high.May be a good chance for him.Anyone ever hunt this unit?Would be his first elk hunt and he's 14 will be 15.He plays football so should be in great shape come Oct.whats the access like and elk numbers.He will shoot any legal elk I'm sure so not worried about trophy quality too much
I have the points for 501 1st rifle.I looked over maps and see good access and plenty of room to hunt.Success was high for the 1st rifle season.Wondering what the trophy quality is like in that unit and the herd size.Or, would it be better I just keep building points for another unit.I'd be looking for at least a 300" bull or better
Was planning a muley hunt in Co. but to have better odds I need to wait at least one more year of point building
