Took my dad turkey hunting this morning. We walked and walked before we finally came across a few turkeys. I called and they didnt respond. I called again. Nothing. The gobblers were not interested in my hens. So we had to do a 150 yard belly crawl in the mud to get close to them. Made a few calls and a gobbler finally came close enough for my dad to blast one.

He is a little bigger that we want. I know, I know. Suppose to shoot the big ones. We are a little spoiled in that we have shot so many that we want the ones that are tender and taste good which mean the small ones.

Hope everyone else in MT is out having a good time doing the turkey thing.

My dad is in his 70's so I have to get them close for him to see em.

Great hunt and picture....just make sure to leave the big ones alone the next time.I'll eat one of them any day.:D

Thanks for the comments. Dad keeps chugging away at the hunting and fishing. Hope when I am that age I can still get around.
