Yep, tresspass fees!
I guess it has to do with location also. I don't pay to hunt in my home state of OK. I hunt public land and private by permission. I guess I pay with the odd gift to the landowner, but that doesn't amount to much. Paying a trespass fee in WY had as much to do with increasing my odds of...- Mingo

Yep, tresspass fees!
From my experience, if hunting public land, especially "back in the day" before the internet, GPS, etc., I needed to hunt the same place 2-3 years to get to know how and where to hunt, and still you could have a hunt influenced by other hunters in the area. Morels everywhere
Wow, morels are done here by mid April. We always cut them in half, dip in egg, roll in cracker crumbs and fry in butter. Of course, we Okies use that recipe for darn near everything.- Mingo

Opening Day.
I have taken a couple of toms by setting up and waiting on them. In both cases it was areas the birds tended to loaf and strut in the early afternoon. Look for birds in the same place a couple of times; not just out moving but hanging out at the edge of a field or in a clearing, etc,- Mingo

Probably no help at all considering the geographical difference, but I like a spinnerbait for bass in early spring. I look for a windward shore with shallow water on a sunny day and roll that spinnerbait by slooow. Seems to be more of a reaction bite. Don't know how it would work for...- Mingo
