Trophy Room Pics

The Antelope was radio collared. We turned the collar back in to the game and fish and asked for a dummy collar for the mount. They sent me one about a month later. Also with a letter stateing how far this antelope had traveled.

First off, I live in a barn. 16 foot walls and 29 feet to the peak. Just great for mounts. Lucky I don't have a wife!!!

Ptarmigan (fall phase)

Nice House PDR, I wouldn't mind having a house like that my self.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the ptarmigan ?
Did you make a trip just for those or were they an extra bonus on a big game hunt ?

It was collared south of Marmouth along the SD border in March and I shot it NE of Scranton, ND that October. It s 50 miles as the crow flys but from the check points on the collar it said it had traveled over 500 miles back and forth until the day shot . 2 1/2 year old also.

Here are the few mounts I do have. The deer is missing an ear as my dad's dog decided to chew it off when he was mounting it. It was almost done so we decided not to wast all the work. The 3x3 is the wife's first buck. The dark horned 4x3 is my first buck and the smaller 4x3 in velvet is my first archery buck. Have some other random sheds laying around the house and some dead heads outside in the yard I did not post pics of.

Yes, last time I was in North Dakota..... if it wasn't posted it could be hunted. NOTE: Being from Iowa and having to ask permission here and being raised to be polite, I still contacted and ask permission from landowners in North Dakota.

Some of the nicest people I have ever met!!! One of them even invited me into his house for a sip of "homemade brew". As I drank the concoction quickly I could see a smile on his face. I minute later I knew why he was smiling as the alcohol hit me. He stated: "I though you were drinkin' that a little too fast, that's for sipping" as he laughed.

good luck to all

In both UT and ID you can hunt unposted land as long as it is not in agricultural production.

Not to stir it up, but I would double check the UT rules. I believe landowners only have to post on fence corners and by gates. That means if their fence is 5 miles long without a gate, then there might only be one sign, or a yellow (I think) marked post. I believe you can still get a trespass ticket without posting, if the landowner presses charges. In the guidebook, it clearly states that it is the hunter's responsible to know whose land he is on.

However, if anyone knows different, please let me know!

I got informed about some of the rules by an officer of the law while trying to photograph offseason deer in northern Utah....
