I would like to get some information on elk hunting north of Dubois Wyoming . If anyone has hunted in that area I am interested in the numbers of elk, terrain and any other information.

Thank you and have a great Memorial Day!

Big Fin,

Thanks for your response and quote!! That is the exact stage of life that I am in and will be going on an elk hunt with my two sons while I can still hopefully keep up with them...

Big Fin,

If I sight my rifle in at 2" high at 100 yards should I be zeroed in at somewhere around 250?
Would be shooting a 180 gr. nosler partition.

Thanks,

I assume you would be shooting a .30 caliber, such as .30-06, .308 Win, .300 Win Mag, or .300 WSM, if shooting 180 grain NP.

If that is the case, your answer would be yes, or very close to that, with most loads designed for a .30 caliber round and a 180 grain bullet.

Give more specifics and we can find and exact chart to verify that, and give you what it is beyond that.

2.7" @ 100 will put you dead on at 250 with 180 gr NP.
