Seasons last quail hunt

Though quail hunting has been tough lately I had to give it one last try before the season ends this weekend.

A walk up one of my favorite areas to start

The desert has it's own beauty

Not getting much action so i'll try calling

No answer. Watch out for the rocks, don't want to sprain an ankle

Even on a slow day there are lots of interesting things to see
This is an uncommon type of cactus around here, either "cow tongue or beaver tail"

A type of hedgehog cactus

Ocotillo

There be monsters about

I'll go over to the water tank and see what I can find

The expanded metal ramp is for bird access

I passed up several shots at cottontails earlier but since my feet are getting sore and no quail I better look for a bunny.
The bounty of the land will grace my table tonight

No quail but I had a good day

Kind of thought so. Was there two weeks ago. Not as green as it was the same time last year.
