Montana Trapping

My nephew graduated from Montana State University and is working/living in Butte, MT. He’s interested in running some traps this winter and I wanted to get him some basics for Christmas. What would be a good list of traps, accessories, etc. to get him started trapping in Western Montana?

It's really dependent upon what he wants to trap. He needs some good coaching by a real ethical trapper to get him headed in the right direction. A bad Trapper, or one that's just learning can do some real damage to our activity by practicing the "trial and error method" of trapping.
