My cousin finally drew a moose tag close to home in Region 4. We have been doing some scouting and getting ready for the season. Was curious if any other past tag holders or anybody wanted to share any pictures of there shiras. I have seen some in the archives but alot of the older posts the pictures are missing. Thanks much appreciated.

First pic is my 45" 2009 Shiras from WA. Second is my Dad's 2011 54" Shiras from Montana

Good Idea, since I have a moose tag in my pocket, I would be thrilled to see a bunch of moose pictures too:)

I think I need to find one like Goldtips......

Great pictures. I sure do remember those shiras being bigger. Growing up in MT and seeing them occasionally I thought they were huge... They look like they're about two backpack loads less than the AK variety.

One of these years maybe I'll draw a tag and scratch a shiras off the list. Be pretty neat to hunt them in Montana, or ID.

While not a MT bull, it's cool so see moose pictures. I found a few live ones last weekend tucked away in an out of the way spot... couple more months and many I'll get lucky.

Here's an average AK bull. Probably a 5-6 yo, just over 50".

Here's my MT Archery Moose, 41" SW MT. One of my funnest hunts! Can't wait to do it again this fall with my buddy who drew a primo tag in MT!

Man those are some monster Shiras...
Has anyone killed a small or even average sized one on here?

Here's the closest I've came to putting my hands on one-

Great pictures so far. Randy11, that is a beautifult set. Very impressive. I have found lots of alaskan moose sheds but only a few in MT. Did you watch that bull before he dropped? Was it in January?

I actually picked those up in late May, at pretty high elevation.

I figure the bull dropped them in December or January before the snow started in, and they stayed fresh packed under the snow. They're as fresh as paddles I've picked up I knew had only been dropped for a couple days.

Hopefully I can find a good one in October, if not it will still be a blast.
