I leave tomorrow at 5 AM for central Utah, near Manti. The Utah game dept shortened the season - it was supposed to start last Saturday, the 17th. Now it starts tomorrow and ends Sunday. 
We will miss opening day, and Thursday will be our first day to hunt. Erwin couldn't leave until tomorrow as he is in Sacramento in court, so he is flying to Salt Lake from there. John is going straight to Montana from Utah, so we are all traveling separately this time.
We will be hunting Erwin's land, so missing opening day shouldn't hurt us. In fact, it may help move the deer onto his place. It hasn't been hunted much for several years so we should see some nice deer.
Last year, I spent almost $1000 on the truck to go to New Mexico. This year, I am taking the Honda and spent $1000 on it! Even do-it-yourself hunts can get expensive!
