So while out today my rifle came out of the sling and dropped barrel tip first into the concrete. I tried to catch it but to no avail. I inspected it and noticed there is a small chunk of the barrel push into then bore. Any ideas on what I should do? Take it to a gun smith and have him bore it out? Just shoot it and re sight it in? 50371AE0-53D9-4F98-AB70-5A7712610297.jpeg

Probably buy a new gun...... you've been upgrading everything else hahaha.

Not sure what the deal is, but I think Cooper may be shut down right now. I'll be driving by in the morning, I'll check. mtmuley

Im probably not the one to listen to, but I wouldn't shoot it if there is any sort of obstruction in the barrel, regardless of how small it is. May just make the problem worse. A gunsmith should be able to trim it down and recrown it. Probably a pretty standard procedure.

It's also fairly common to counterbore your muzzle end so that damage like you incurred doesn't mess things up.

I'm late to post again. You can rent crowning tools and all sorts of other cool things from 4D Rental in Kalispell. They mail you they tool and you have 7 days to get it back.
They are great to work with.
