Fly or drive to Wyoming

Who do you guys book your flights and rental cars through?
I’m planning on skiing Colorado next month and can’t decide if I want to fly or drive.
Flight prices seem relatively constant from Priceline, Expedia and Amex travel, but there’s like a $200 difference in rental cars between the various sites, Expedia being the most expensive.
Anybody have any tips for flying with skis and a backpacking kit?

What I need to know real quick is this: Once you get to Wyoming, are there transportation only services into the wilderness, i.e. pack trains without a hunting guide? Looks like all the outfitters just want to take me hunting. I know what the rules say about non-residents.

You can camp on any BLM land. Rent an RV when you get here.
