I am diving into my first elk hunt in New Mexico. I have hunted on Colorado, but never in New Mexico. Can anyone give me advice on what area to sign up for? Also I would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations on hunt areas, camping areas, etc. I will be doing this hunt on my own so I need an area that will accommodate a lone hunter for both access and bringing out an animal. I am thinking about Area 34? Anyone have an opinion on that area or something about the area I should be aware of? Please send me your advice. Thanks!

I have never hunted unit 34.
