I've been told I'm crazy many times and long before this little adventure. Not sure if I'll do another, I'll see where I'm at in a few years. Mostly it's for right now so my wife and I can pack up our little one and hit the road for the weekend to find places with no cell reception.

"Crazy" would be crawling under that front half , the rack looks like it is deflecting a bit.Situations like that make me think of a squashed toad.I also am sketched by a chance of a giant pendulum affect with no visible lateral bracing. Maybe pointless observations,but caution has saved my neck in a career of construction risk-taking.Radical project,hope it is working out for you,....agreed you gots some motivation above and beyond.

Based solely on the fact that you lived in one . . . that was old enough to have been refurbished . . . .when you were in college, validates the timelssness of the Airstreams.

But that I wish I could be as thoroughly refurbished.
