any of yall hunt these Colorado mountain birds? Need some advice if you have any...did have a good day out looking around though found a couple fresh sheds then was driving out and saw this squirrely looking fox statue I had never seen before then he moved his head...do you think birds still come to the bath if there is a fox sitting in it?

1) Be cautious, someone always manages to shoot someone around here this time of year.

2) Cow pies = turkeys:)

3) Coyote howler has been my best locator for mountain birds.

sweet...thanks do you have a problem getting them to talk during these windy times....seems like last year was howling winds all turkey season too

I like using an owl or crow for a locator. Never tried a coyote. Two years ago when we had an exceptionally wet and cold spring, the birds seemed to be congregated in creek bottoms where there wasn't much snow.

I like the range that a howler has, seems to carry farther than most others. I do not recommend it if you know birds are close. Don't be afraid to call a little louder to, with this wind we've been having.
