Best Bowhunt?

What would you all say is the best week to hunt South West New Mexico in Gila? Love two here your replies.

I only hunted it once myself, but have partners that have hunted it 4-5 times and killed some bodacious bulls including a 360 and one that went 389 and change...

They always preferred hunting the early bow season....Less bugling, but many of the bulls haven't formed up harems yet and call easier..It's also an easier draw...

i would say the week closest to October... Thats when we have always had the best luck here on Mt Taylor. North West NM>>Its seems that the elk are harder into the rut closer to October. But it may be different down South.
