A couple more nests

Here's a couple more nests I've found the last few days. If anyone can guess what these are they get a gold star.

Oak, is that first one on the ground?
I think there is an owl that nests on the ground ? Not sure though

First ones are Hawks, 2 ones Owls.

The Hawks would be.,.... a Swainson's Hawk ?

The Owls would be the Burrowing owls ?

Yeah, you had the owl and hawk part right. Wrong on the specifics, though.

Yep, ol' Bill takes a lot of bird pics, and a lot better than me.

No boreal owls in the chokecherry.

The top one are either Baby Red Tail Hawks or Baby Ferruginous Hawks.....

The bottom one are Baby Screech Owls....

Am I right??

Oak, I knew about the burrowing owl but didnt know that any made a nest on the ground.
I think the owls are short eared owls, Asio flammeus. ??

And for the hawks I will guess, Ferruginous hawks ?

You're getting closer on the owls. Tuff guessed ferruginous hawk incorrectly before you.

Dang, I didnt see that is what Tuff guessed.
After an hour of searching for ground nesting owls and hawks I thought I had it...

The only other one that stands out is the burrowing owl, but that is what I thought moosie guessed.

No I think Moosie said Boreal so I say burrowing.

I was surprised to find this owl species nesting on the ground. I read up on it afterward and found a source that said they do (rarely) nest on the ground.

How about a big hint. Here's a picture of a very upset mother.

Not sure on the first picture could it be Prairie Falcon, here's relatives of the second picture a little bit older and taken last year. Blury because its tough to focus while momma's trying to scalp you. Long Eared Owl/Horned Owl
