Cleaning kits
Just curious if anyone out there has a quality cleaning kit that they really like. I purchased a cheap one a few years ago and just broke the push rod as I was cleaning my rifle. It was one of those $35 kits from the big box stores. Anyone know of any of better quality? I'd rather not have tho...- Popcan

I just listened to this podcast and chuckled and said "Newberg what the hell are doing?" at the same time. Personally I think grouse are the exception to the rule. High Country Mule Deer Hunt
25 is definitely a unit that is going to require a lot of scouting. That said anything is possible. If you don't have the time to scout it, I'd find a different unit. Just my opinion and it's probably not worth much lol. Good luck to ya. -

25 is a tough hunt imo. The deer are there but so are the roads and competition. It's real hard to find a secluded area. Oh there are quite a few guides in the area too. That said the deer are there. -

Well I'm back from my first mule deer hunt, and I gotta say it was tough. I had studied the odds and stats before I went and had a feeling I was going to see more people than deer and I was right. The success rate for my units were around 30% and the tag allotment was high. Come to find out... -

Fair enough. Good ol common sense can take you a long way. I just fear that every where I go, someone will be posted up there. The units I'll be in aren't very big for the amount of hunters involved. -

I'm going on my first mule deer hunt and I am trying to choose the right ammo. I'm shooting a 308. Anyone have an ammo of preference? Is there a bullet weight I should be looking at? Thanks in advance.- Popcan
