SB 32- Trapping Ban

I haven't seen much about this on here, but there is a bill at the NM Legislature that would ban trapping on public lands in NM. It is Senate Bill 32 and is on its way to the Senate Judiciary Committee. I've been doing some research on the issue and from what I've read, the Game Commission adopted some trapping changes that went into effect 11/1 but now there's a push to ban it completely. Yesterday the Senate Conservation Committee voted 7-2 to move the bill forward.

Yes, last year some trapping rules changed. I personally feel that we should let the wildlife professionals make this decision not the legislature. What next, let legislature determine how tags for bulls are allotted in unit 17?
