Wyoming late season elk hunts

Hi I am new to the site. I am wondering how many points it takes in Wyoming to do a late season migration hunt? Thanks

It depends on whether or not you want bulls. If you want cows, there are lots of left-over permits that can be bought after the draw.

It would be a bull tag. From what I understand it would take 8plus years. Is that right?

That is probably right. If you have never killed elk, get cow tags and learn how to hunt them while you are collecting preference points.

I'm looking at a late season unit for my son.The unit I'm looking at doesn't require 8 pts.I need to talk with biologist out there to see if it's worth while to use his points on.Would give me a chance to do a cow elk hunt and keep building my points
