Why do Wyoming Antelope dates very so much depending on the unit?

Just curious. Drew a unit 7 tag this year and I see the season is only two weeks in the first half of October. Hunted 24 last year and had the whole month. Noticed some other units have other dates as well.

Just curious to the reasoning behind this.

Same with deer seasons. Most rifle seasons for deer generally start on Oct. 1st but I have a Region A tag and season starts Nov. 1st.Always wondered why the difference.
Most areas that I hunted antelope started in September for rifle hunters.

Sounds right, bushwcker. We were hunting antelope in NM in the NE part of the state. Late in the day, a warden pulled up. We were getting ready to pull out our liscense, but all he wanted to know was, "where the hell am I at?" He was from the other end of the state and was up there giving those guys some help. I think the NM seasons are three days, so Wyoming is generous.

Part is based on animal movements, The antelope will start migrating towards winter range in October. Supposedly they manage each herd by unit.
