Wasatch Cow tag

I drew a Wasatch currant creek cow tag. I have only hunted elk once (CO OTC archery tag). I am just looking for any helpful info I can get. There are 1000 tags for this hunt from 10/4 10/16. Will that make it a zoo?
Is it crazy to think I have a shot at getting a cow done? Willing to hike in as far as needed. Just don't have the knowledge base of what to do like a lot of you veteran elk hunters on here. Thanks in advance for any info.

I'm pretty sure that's during the OTC spike season. It's gonna be a cluster...especially that close to the Salt Lake Metro. Plan on packing in far from roads.

I have never hunted this unit myself, but from what I understand, the success rate is low hence the large numbers of tags. Sorry I can't help more.
