Scratched the itch this morning!
Beautiful morning, hunting the way I like it, on public land far away from people and I had the place by myself. Hiked in while it was dark. Deer starting popping out as it got light.
I liked this dinker 4X4 enough to pull the trigger at around 250 yards. He disappeared over the hill. Felt like a good shot. Reviewed the shot in my mind over and over, as I was gathering my stuff I look up to see a really nice buck looking at me from 60 yards away....I was pretty sure my buck was dead, so I smiled and waved at the buck.
This picture is taken from where the buck was standing. I was near the top of the nearest hill in those big white rocks.
Found some blood.
Followed about 125 yards into a thicket and found him.
Completely satisfied with the dinker buck as I was hunting the way I enjoy, far away from people, spot and stalk, beautiful morning, life is good!
Thanks Veterans!
