Unit 52 New Mexico

I drew a first rifle elk tag this year. Was wondering if anyone knew of somebody in that area that could pack an elk out if needed? I plan on hunting a couple of miles from any road. Thanks

We are looking at applying in unit 52 for 2019. Would you be willing to share a few details about your hunt. We are going archery and not looking for giant bulls but looking for lots of elk.

Long ago, I thought I had a packer in 52. He never showed. Have a back up plan.

I hope so, I shudder at the thought of carrying an elk out all by myself.

In my case, I was not alone. There were three of us. But there were two bulls, and one of my buddies was a heavy smoker. It worked out however. Also, it was, at that time very hard to find ANYONE to pack an animal.

I've seen the pictures of that place. Maybe someday when I have more vacation I'll go pack out bulls there in order to see it
