What's your firearm line up for the rifle seasons?

Old reliable is a pre-64 Model 70 Winchester in 30-06. It puts 180's & 165's into much smaller holes than I can aim for.

Favorite to tote is a Mauser 98 in 35 Whelen. It's a little heavy, but 250 grains of RN Hornady gives me satisfaction in grizzly bear country.

The 1886 Winchester in 33 WCF is going to make some walks this season too. I found a load that shoots to the sights, and with a little more practise, I think I'll be good out to 200 yards with the factory buckhorns.

Winchester model 70 in 30-06 for deer. For elk I love my 338 RUM, model 700 XCR.

1. Blueprinted 700 in 7MM Mashburn
2. Trusty original 700 in 7mm Remington Magnum.
3. M70 Classic Stainless (New Haven) in 30-06.

Depending on range results this weekend, #1 may be scratched from the line-up.

I'll be using my remongton 700 in 7mm mag. I have used this rifle with the same Leupold 2-7 scope
since 1979. It has never let me down. I use it for everything from coyotes to antelope to deer and elk.
I shoot 150 grain factory core-lokt for deer and antelope and 175 corelokt for elk. Never had a falure
with these bullets. They are hard to beat for factory ammo.

1) 270 a-bolt for most everything
2) savage 220f slug shotgun for easy pickings of wma deer
3) wife's 7mm08 for the hell of it and I love it's stock

Pre 64 Winchester model 70 .270 which my grandfather purchased new and a Howa 1500 .308 that I paid too much for at a recent DU banquet :)

For waterfowl I have an old wingmaster that has been in the family for a generation or two and a newer 870.

300 WSM Weaver Custom for elk...the VX6 firedot CDS 2.5x10x42 schmalts sent has me thoroughly spoiled.

A Ruger One 7 rem mag for deer simply because I like to look at it....

Heavy S&W K & L frame revolvers for the warm fuzzies.

...an AR hankering, hoping it'll pass.

This year? No western hunt for me :(. So it will be a Beretta 390 12 ga shooting Federal Premium slugs. Good medicine for MN deer.

I am surprised I have never heard of someone opting for a shotgun for shots 150 yards and in. My setup is plenty accurate and is so much quicker to the shoulder than any of my rifles. It seems there are plenty of guys who like rifles that only shoot to around that 200 yard mark, but shotguns get no love at all. They just haven't caught on?

I just shot four white-tailed deer day before yesterday with my Remington 6mm. I have some more deer to kill and too many decisions on what to use. I am having a .308 re-barreled and will use it if it gets back to me in time.

November in northern Wyoming will have me carrying a pair of 7 mags (not at the same time, but I have two permits). One is a Remington SPS shooting 160 Partition hand loads and the other is a Savage/Criterion shooting 140 Accubonds just because I want to kill an elk with one to see how it does..

Remington 700 .270 topped of with a Nikon monarch 4-16. I'm going to try nosler accubond handloads in 130 grain for the first time this year. Can't wait to hear that whap when they hit a big rutted up muley.

Looks like I'll be just using my M96 44 Mag here around Ohio, unless I can get down to NC. That's my Ruger 77 7mm/08, with 150 gr Nosler BT's territory.

My Kimber 84M Classic in .308 (the original short-mag) is ready for action. Loads are topped with Barnes TTSX 168-grain. I have a couple deer tags so I may use my old Winchester 64 (open sights) in 30-30 for whitetails if I'm feeling nostalgic. Hurry up, calendar.

I will man up and admit it......Tikka T3 in 7mm08 with accubond handloads for elk and deer. New set up so I am excited to try it!

Mines either montana xwr 300 win or tikka 300 wsm both topped with vortex viper 4-16's no western hunts this year so bit overkill for yotes and these small nw ar bucks but hey i dont like bloodtrails.:)
