A lot of my morel hot spots got picked over before I could get them this year. I don’t think it helped that the entire state was locked up and looking to get outside for a bit which is probably why my public land honey hole is no more. Mushroom hunting is a great time though.
My kid has been doing a brush removal job in Oregon. His crew has been "social distancing" (lmfao) in the mountains. They work for four days and then go back to Boise. He sent a pic of over 300 morels that they found right around where they were camped. They are living large. They are camping out, eating good shit, getting well-paid and working their asses off. Life as it should be.
I recently discovered we have a ton of Shaggy Manes growing on our land. Like if I got to them before they started turning i could fill 2-5 gallon buckets in about 1/4 acre.
