This is a general question and I know various states will differ, but do most states let you used a scoped muzzleloader in a rifle/general season? I know many muzzleloader seasons require open sights, but would think for a rifle season it wouldn’t matter. Anybody know of any states that carry that open sight requirement to the general seasons as well?

Muzzleloaders are legal in rifle season here in Colorado. And the regs only specify that non-scoped muzzleloaders be used during muzzy season. So I’m pretty sure scopes are okay in rifle season

You can use a scope that magnifies during regular rifle and you can use a non magnified scope in Muzzy only seasons. South Dakota.

You can use them during Any Weapon season and MZ hunts in NM but that will be changing. Scopes will not be allowed on MZ hunts if the commision changes the rules this year. Looks like they will.
