I have a Remington Vantage break barrel air rifle for rodent control. The factory open sights are flimsy and easily get knocked out of alignment. Can you suggest a reliable scope or peep sight set designed for air rifle use? I can't spend hundreds of dollars on a scope and the cheap ones I have tried - including the one that came with it - are useless.
A scope would be preferable if a reasonably priced one exists. Typical shot range is less than 50 feet, so optical quality of a scope doesn't matter. It just needs to be solid enough to not lose zero.
I use a peep on my muzzleloader and really like it, so am thinking that may be a good alternative. The front sight is not removable and I'm not sure how to measure for a rear sight height.
The gun has dovetail for mounting, no holes.
All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
