MONTPELIER - Douglas Owen Freeman, 19, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, passed into his Heavenly Father's love and care on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier, Idaho with members of his family around him. Owen was born with a smile and twinkle and a personality that brought sunshine into all our lives. He loved sports, especially football and basketball. He lettered in both at Bear Lake High School and had a special friendship with Coach Craig Culver.

Owen worked very hard despite the battle he was waging against his cancer, and graduated from Bear Lake High School in 2003. While in high school he was active in Seminary as well as sports. He will be remembered by all at Bear Lake High with love. Besides high school sports, Owen was also an avid bowler and won many awards for his bowling. He loved camping, hunting and fishing with his family and loved going to the lake. He could always be counted on to find the fun and the good in all things and in all people. His heart was as wide and open as the mountains that he loved.

Owen had a special relationship with his Uncle Don and Aunt Clara Toomer and lived with them this past year. His girlfriend, Jasmalyn Kunz stayed close with him through the end and he loved and appreciated her and her support.

Owen is survived by his parents, Douglas J. Freeman of Montpelier, and Tamara Jean Martin of Rigby, Idaho; three sisters, Tenille Freeman of Pocatello, Nikki and Tara Freeman of Montpelier; his grandparents, Clyde and Dixie Martin of Rigby, Idaho, Owen Blake and Mary Toomer of Montpelier; two great-grandmothers and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and one niece.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, at 2 p.m. in the Montpelier Stake Center. Friends may call at Matthews Mortuary on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday at the church from noon until 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery

I will add hers when it becomes available.

Thanks
