Nebraska 2012 muledeer hunt

Myself and a buddy are looking for some advice on a Nebraska muledeer hunt. We are coming from Tennessee and aren’t looking for a record book deer. We are looking for an area that has a good deer population. But it would be nice to kill a nice 4X4. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the north central and northwest part of the state. Pickup a public land atlas available each year available at most hunting/fishing places in the state and propably the nebraska game and fish website.. Plces to start are Crawford, Ft. Robinson, Chadron, McKelvie NF. Lots of NF, WMA's, grasslands, etc.. Avoid gun season if you can, lots of pressure. When you drive around you will see animals, try not to hit any with your car at night.
