Montana wild fires & elk

Hey guys, I'm headed out Sept 15 to hunt Montana for the first time, my question is how does all the smoke from the wildfires affect the elk? I am going with a guy that has grown up in the area we are hunting. I was just sitting at work wondering how this affects game and their movements.

The smoke shouldn't matter to the elk unless the fire is nearby.

The smoke and fires won't affect the elk movements, unless they are about to get burnt up. The smoke and fire are much more likely to affect your movements due to fire closures.
