My first and only turkey, got him in May of 2001. Can't seem to get drawn for another tag. He was 20# with a 10" beard, had no spurs, they were broken off...

Congrats on a great bird.Thanks for getting my blood boiling man.Just need it to be April 13 so I can head to Turkey camp.
Try this
I used to have a hell of a time getting drawn for tags in Mn. I dont know if theres any proof behind my theory but has worked for the last couple years.
Try applying for Monday thru Friday seasons early in the year or shoot for the fishing opener weekend. Seems like both times, dont have near the applicants. Both seasons always seem to have left over tags depending on the zones.
Also something new this year in Mn. If you didnt get drawn for a tag you can purchase a archery tag for the last two Five day periods , over the counter.( no lottery). Makes for tough hunting that late, but your still hunting! Birds are pretty much henned up by then, But if you know there patterns you could try setting up on them.
