Map Assistance Needed

I hear and read about elk being partial to "parks" when I read and talk to other hunters in Colorado when I am elk hunting. I am just wondering what these are and how you find them on a topo map.
I am obviously not talking about National "Parks". This term has been used more as a description of geography or landscape. I am sure it is something very easy but being from the flatland of OK and MO I just don't hear that term around here. This is my first post and hope you guys will take it easy on a rookie asking such a silly question.

I believe you're talking about a meadow...look for an open spot on the map

a spot on the map with very wide lines,,usually water of some sort running thru it.

Thank you. I knew it was something simple. NOW I really feel silly.

its a meadow,but after the guns go off elk like heavy timber more than parks,at least during the day.
