I know there are mixed feelings from people here on the shoulder season hunts we have in Montana. I'm not trying to start any arguments, just wanted to share some pictures of the weekend.
I was invited by my boss to hunt with him on a ranch that was a mix of private and BLM.
We saw hundreds of elk over the couple days we were there, and the highlight was a group of 40 big bulls that we watched for a while before they decided we were too close for their liking.
I was able to harvest a cow in the evening of the second day, but the terrain and darkness worked against me and I had to wait till morning to recover it. Beautiful country, and saw some great mulie bucks as well. hope you enjoy the pictures.
