with 9k I think I'd hook my pops up with a trophy mule deer and elk hunt. He always said he wished he'd had the chance to take a true trophy mule deer. Thinks he's getting too old to hike around the hills now, so probably buy a late season landowner tag and hire a guide in the Gunnison basin.

I like Buzz's choices, but I'd substitute Blue Sheep in China for the Snow Sheep.

One other thought would be to take the $9K to either Austrailia or New Zealand and fill up an ark!!

I would do a Dall Sheep. Like someone stated above about the Chugach being draw only now. I would look at the Brooks Range. You can still get a good deal there and a nice ram.
