Had a great weekend with some even better friends. We were able to get two of our crew their first bulls, and your truly gave his first "Howa Handshake" to a tasty cow.

Really liking the new Howa Alpine in 6.5 Creedmore.

Great stuff. Congrats to all.

Howa is sending me a Creedmore. Right now I am toting the .308 Win and the .7mm-08 in the Alpine Mountain Rifle. Excited to shoot that new addition. What loads you shooting in the Creedmore?

Awesome elk!! That alpine rifle is sweet!

I started hunting with a .260 Rem (pretty much the ballistic twin of the 6.5 Creed, went this way as I have yet to dive into handloading), and I love it. 1 bear so far and hopefully elk and deer in a week or so.

I have had really good accuracy (and really good anecdotal terminal performance on the bear) with the 130grn Accubond.

Jeez, those bulls....I'm green whisper. Congrats on the good eats and nice shooting iron.

140 grain Amax did the job on my cow and on the smaller bull. I started with the 129gr SST but it didn't like those as much. Gonna get to work working up a load with the 140gr or 130gr Berger Hybrids. Cold bore shot on that little gun is always money, but the light contour heats up pretty fast and they walk a bit if you are concerned about shooting groups. Luckily I am only concerned about being "minute of mule deer" for the next few weeks. I shot this gun out to 600 the other day, and I can for sure get it done from there.
