Just watched a bunch of elk leaving the burn areas on the news..

Any "experts" care to share info on what animals have the best/worst chance of survival??

Deer/Elk? Turkeys?..Rabbits/ squirrels/ all have young from the Spring...what % don't make it?

All the fires we get are usually late summer. Most young of the year are strong enough to flee. Your fires are unique in the respect that many of this years young are very new. I would worry a little. If there's any mosaic patterns to the fires, I think the wildlife can cope.

During the fires of 2000, we did have wildlife deaths from fires. I think it would have a lot to do with how complete the fires are.
