I had my struggles with the antelope this year. I had a couple I just flat ranged wrong,.... and a couple more that decided to be somewhere else when my arrow got there. But I finally got it done with some unexpected help.
I always thought the whole foam goat head thing was kind of silly, but if you crawl up on enough goats you begin to wish you had one. A good friend hooked me up with a Be The Decoy hat for my birthday and I finally got far enough away from town and any possible onlookers to try it. I managed to find a buck covering some ground and was able to get above him as he came up a hill. I peeked over the lip of the ridge with the hat on and he came in on a string. It wasn't the closest of shots, but he did end up well within my comfort zone and now he gets to come home with me.
Hoping to keep the streak going with a big bull this weekend. Hope to have more pics to post by Monday.
Good luck to everyone out there flinging arrows!
