What's the best book(s) you've read concering safari hunting---

I just finished Brian Herne's ---White Hunter--not a bad read

and Capstick's Death in a Dark Continent--not bad either

I'm now reading Capstick's--SAFARI--and so far so good--chris

Capsitck and Rurak will keep you busy...

There is another one on India that is pretty cool....

BinBandB4---Corbett's books on India hunting are top notch no doubt--probably the best I've read so far---Maneaters of Kumoan--I think is the title of one of them---please correct me if I'm wrong--I'll have to go dig it out later and see if that's the right title---chris

Africa books

Ruark's, "Horn of the Hunter" is one of the best books ever written. Never cared for Capstick. Another book that is not readily available is Sourdough and Swahili by Bud Branham. Brian Herne also wrote 2 other books, Uganda Safaris and Tansania Safaris that are both godd reads.

from the "Heartland of Wyoming"

Safari press reprinted several of the old classics (including corbetts 4 books) so the classics can be found fairly cheaply. I liked WDM Bells ' wanderings of an elephant hunter' and pattersons 'maneaters of tsavo'.
