Elk B

Just noticed that my Elk B tag says it is valid from Oct 26 to Dec 1, but the regs state otherwise. Is there something obvious I'm missing or is it a typo on the tag and the regs are right.

Elk B License. Drawing only. Apply by June 1.
321-80: 100 licenses. Valid in HD 321 and in north portion of HD329 from
Big Hole Pass along the Big Hole Divide, west of USFS Road 919
and north of Eunice Creek.
• Sept 07 - Oct 20 – Antlerless Elk. Archery Only Season.
• Oct 26 - Dec 01 – Antlerless Elk.

Looks like your B tag is only valid during the rifle season. The archery dates mean antlerless is open without a B tag, and a cow can be taken on your general elk license. At least I think. A quick call to FWP should clear it up. mtmuley

The regs are right, you can use the b tag during archery season. They do the same thing with antelope tags, list only rifle dates on the tag but they are good for archery as well. Good luck!

They only show the rifle dates on the tag because not everyone archery hunts. At least that's what I was told last year when I called FWP.
