Coyote travel patterns for snaring

I set out a dozen or so snares so far for about two weeks now with no luck. I finally found some yote hair in a couple of places on barb wire fence. One of the spots was definitely a game trail the other looked just like a random spot. You guys think they go through the same spots routinely or just fence at random spot?.......Did have one snare completely missing, had it clipped around a tree.
