Colorado Unit 49 burning.

Unit 49 had a fire start south of Fairplay. I have sent a decent amount of time out there and have a friend that sent a picture of it. I'm kind glad I didn't draw that archery tag now. It has apparently gotten a few house's. I hope they can get it under control before it gets anymore.

Hopefully it doesn’t get any more residences and people can stay safe, but fire is a natural part of an ecosystem that has many benefits.

This fire is on Jones Hill. Firefighters are trying to keep it from moving north onto Black Mountain. Maps and updates here:

I think I saw a news clip; the Firestarter has been arrested. Life if possible and any firefighters have dies death would be the least penalty.

The arrest was for the guy who started the Spring fire, La Veta Pass/Cuchara, (unit 85) which is much larger and w many more evacuations than the Weston fire (unit 49). And the largest, longest lasting fire in CO continues north of Durango (unit 42).
