Cicada's for stripers?

I just bought a 1/2oz Cicada to try this Saturday at Pleasant for the stripers. That was the heaviest they had at Waterdog's on Cave Creek Rd. No, I didn't go into the Candy Store. The guy in there told me that the store on Baseline had heavier ones. He didn't seem to friendly, maybe he was wishin he was fishin.

Watch for fouling on these things. The hooks are kinda of squirelly and will foul in the line. Also a multitude of ways to fish them.

I did notice the funky hooks. Have you tried running a bead of solder on the shaft of the hook? I'm afraid that the hook could bend and release the fish.

Do you use a swivel snap or just a plain snap for attaching to the line?
