How well do the Berger bullets work in a Weatherby since you need to seat them close to the lands, and the "free-bore" in Weatherbys make it kinda difficult to seat the bullets that far out??

I have several guns that shoot Bergers very well at .100 or more off the lands. Unfortunately the only way to know is to run the seating depth test.

I have read on the internet (gotta be true!) that the hybrids are less sensitive to seating depths than the VLDs. I have not personally confirmed this yet but do have a box of 215 hybrids ready to load for my 300 wby. They may be a bullet type you want to consider.

I've loaded VLD's in RUM's, the factory guns having a long throat. I have managed to get them to shoot very well. The Classic Hunter line is much more forgiving as far as seating depth. VLD's don't "have" to be seated close to the lands. Your rifle will tell you. mtmuley
