Bear activity in Montana

I hit one of my best early season spots on Saturday evening. No green up, no bear tracks, and no bear scat. Not an ounce of bear sign anywhere. The hills are so dry the trails were dusty and the green grass was just barely starting to sprout but not enough to attract any bears yet. We need rain really bad.

It's been a great early season so far in region 2. Snowline's still pretty low, but everything below that is super green already, and the bears are out doing bear things.

Plenty of bears out. Saw three this year and shot one back on the 26th.
