I was in my local gun shop today and they had a handful of these rifles. I've been tempted to get one, but until today I'd never handled one.

I was horrified when I handled the first one, because there was a MASSIVE gap at the rear of the tang between it and the start of the stock. Like a full 1/8 of an inch. "Maybe just a fluke..." I thought. Nope. I handled all 4 they had on hand, and all 4 had great big gaps there.

Maybe it's not a big deal and they still shoot great, but from a nice stock manufacturer like HSP and a group like Legacy, I'd expect a little better fit/finish.

For what they cost H&S stocks are garbage IMO. Heavy, very thick in the wrist and fore end, and cheaply made of chopped glass. If they cost the same as a Bell and Carlson it would be one thing, but they dont. Much better values out there.
