Got back from the annual Alaska fishing trip.

Nothing real exceptional this year, brought back 480 pounds of filets, 80 lbs each for 6 guys. No real big halibut, mostly chickens with a couple nicer ones. Did pretty good on lingcod caught a dozen or so good ones. Enough kings and silvers for the year. Tons of grey cod.

Metronomic success with your Alaska fish adventures.

Perhaps you and your long time fishing partners schooled the new boat captain on some things, (I’d bet.)

Nice, just did a freezer run myself, had a blast, one highlight was catching multiple halibut in 40 feet on the “bass” gear

How deep are you fishing the cod?

About 180-200 feet and the fishing was very fast.

Caught more bigger lingcod than normal as well, mostly around 100 feet for those.

I don't know about, but he figured out pretty quickly we've been fishing up there for a while.

Was a big change for us after having fished 15 years or so with Gary Salter.

My brother is partway through a 3 week trip up there. I have been seeing photos of some success. I am not much of a fisherman but photos like those posted by @BuzzH make me want to pick up a rod.

I am glad you had a good time.

Nice job Buzz! You got some nice lings. Don't know about you, but the annual Alaska fishing trip is right up there as one of my favorite won't miss adventures every year. I think I look forward to it as much as any hunting trip at this point. Thanks for sharing.

How much would you say this trip costs you in total, air, hotels, how many days fishing, cost to fish, cost to get fish home, length of the actual trip...etc...etc...?
