    New Mexico Unit 51 or 52

    Hunted 52 last year. Lots of elk but nothing over a small five point. The unit is basically a giant volcano. Most of the hunting is down and you will enjoy long hikes up out in the dark. You can get some awesome glassing in though. Not a unit I would go back to.

    Plenty of elk off 34 on private. You can occasionally catch them on public. Laramie side of the hill is pretty much snowed the hell in. You won’t get to Mule Creek or Mcfarlene.     For some fun brookie and cutt fishing drive to Lewis Lake. Take the trail to Shelf Lakes. You will see some beautiful country.

    Take Sandlake road off 130. When you get up a ways you will see a closed gate on the left side of the road. This trail will get you in Rock Creek Knoll. Go down the trail a mile or so and hunt around those ridges. You'll find grouse.

    Hacienda is ok. Same with the Riviera. I prefer the Copper line but no tv and not much for internet access, not entirely bad things.
