Hey guys need to ask a question. My wife might be taking a job in colstrip mt working for PPL.. Hows the hunting out there? Is there decent public land? I am a little worried about the hunting out there,
I finished my deer season this year with the 270 with the sst. Both me and my brother in law used the 270 with the sst. worked great at 40 yards and 300 yards but i for next season im switching to the nosler partition for elk.
I like the 270 its the most accurate factory rifle I have ever bought. Its a ruger american with a nikon on top. With hornady superformace 140 sst ammo its one hole groups at 100 yards. Last year I took 7 deer with this and it worked great. Has anybody had experience with the sst on elk?
I can shoot the 270 and 338 ok. I can get 3/4 inch groups with both. My 300 has never really been a shooter. I love how light the 270 is but im afraid of the lack of power for elk or at least i was told that.
Hey guys i want to get some input on your hunting rifle caliber. Right now i have a 243win, 270 win, 300 win mag and my personal favorite my ruger m77(1982) in 338 win mag. I am trying to decide on one rifle for deer, bear and elk what do you guys think i should go with. I keep hearing horror...
So there is a road that goes to red knob mountain that comes off the madison and goes thru Turners land. Its called Cherry creek rd. Tt shows it on my hunt chip and on my FS travel map. Has anybody gone on this road? Is it blocked like most of the roads that go onto Turners land? I have seen...
Thanks for the advice hopefully i will be able to connect with one this year. So with all of this advice im taking the Spanish Creek trailhead area would be a good place to start.
I hear you on that. I have been trying to get farther back in but by the time you do there is somebody on a four wheeler or snow machine on the trail and some times off the trail. Is flathead pass any better for getting away from people?
Hey guys this is my first post on here. This is my first year hunting in the bozeman area. I have hunted the Bangtails (olsen and jackson creek) and there are a ton of people. Is there always this many people up there? I cant go anywhere without running into people. Also i havent seen any elk or...
