I suppose it depends entirely upon your desire to hunt a limited entry unit one day. A cursory review of Gohunt.com shows there are a handful of units that have decent draw odds for the rifle hunt once you get to 5 points. It would take a bit more digging to see what the public land status is in... -

I think David Allen did some amazing things with the Elk Foundation. I talked to someone today who is close to what's going on and even he was surprised by the change, so who knows what inner working led to his ouster. Either way I'll hope that things continue in a positive direction because... -

The Lolo Peak fire is wrecking my plans to hunt Idaho ahead of Montana. The National Forest Closure currently surrounds an area I have hunted quite a bit and was planning to this year. -

Has anyone else noticed that current wildfire info doesn't display on the web app when you click on a highlighted area, but it does work on the iPhone or iPad app? I wonder what's causing that little problem? -

Sage advice! I've spoken with the biologist in the area and his advice was to "assume there are a few around". I don't imagine the numbers are anywhere near what they are is SW Montana, but we'll still prepare accordingly! -
